Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information kinkyorvanilla.com (the “Site,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to this Policy. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

1. Information we collect

• Account data (if you register): your display name, and whichever of email, phone number, or Google sign-in you choose to use. Passwords are stored only as salted, hashed values — never in plain text.
• Submissions & interactions: media you upload (stored encrypted), plus titles, tags, ratings, favorites, comments, and Kink Test answers/results.
• Technical & security data: IP address, coarse country, browser user-agent, and timestamps, used for security, moderation, and abuse prevention. Guests are assigned a random device identifier stored in your browser so your ratings and submissions work without an account.
• Communications: messages you send us and your email preferences.

2. How we use information

We use information to: operate and secure the Site; store, moderate, and display content; create watermarked public derivatives; calculate ratings and rankings; show you your own submissions, favorites, and results; prevent fraud, abuse, and illegal activity; comply with legal obligations; and, if you opt in, send you email. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we process personal data on the bases of: performance of our contract with you (providing the Site); our legitimate interests (security, moderation, preventing abuse, improving the Site); your consent (for example, optional email and non-essential analytics); and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How content is protected

Uploaded originals are encrypted at rest and are never served to the public. Only a moderated, resized, watermarked derivative is shown, delivered through short-lived, signed, rate-limited links. This is a deliberate design choice to protect creators.

5. Sharing & disclosure

We share personal data only with: service providers who process data on our behalf under contract (for example hosting, content delivery, email delivery, bot-protection, and analytics providers); authorities and organizations where required by law or to report or prevent illegal content or harm; and successors in the event of a merger or sale, subject to this Policy. We do not otherwise disclose your personal data.

6. Cookies & local storage

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your age confirmation and theme, and hold your guest device id. With your consent we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser and through the consent banner where shown.

7. Data retention

We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Site. When content is removed it is withdrawn from public view; encrypted originals and certain records may be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations (including age/records laws) and to prevent or investigate abuse. Security logs are kept for a limited period.

8. Your rights & choices

You can: delete your submissions; unsubscribe from email at any time; and request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may also have rights to portability, restriction, or objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and we do not sell or “share” personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. International transfers

The Site uses globally distributed infrastructure, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Children

The Site is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the Site or appears in any content, contact us immediately and we will act.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption of stored originals, hashed passwords, signed access links, and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

We may update this Policy; material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
